How to prevent overeating during the Holidays

We assume you are looking forward to the Christmas and New Year holidays. Time for family, friends, emotions, warmth, gifts. Of course, you also have time to eat your favourite food prepared by grandma's recipes. You always promise that you will not overdo it, and then follow the self-blame "I'm overreacting", "It's hard for me" ... all the familiar phrases. In order not to cause this stress on your body, you can take advantage of some useful tips for healthy eating and avoiding overeating:

  • Choose a healthier option between dishes: for example, there are pumpkins and fruits in front of you. Instead of eating a huge piece of pumpkin, you can eat less and more fruit!
  • Stay away from the tempting bowl of chips, nuts and other salty delights - while you're having an exciting conversation with a loved relative, you can even eat the bowl yourself!
  • Concentrate on food while you eat. Chew well and enjoy the scent, the taste, the texture. Fast eating can lead to excessive amounts of excess calories.
  • Spend more time in helping the kitchen or choose other activities that take you away from the busy table.
  • Do not get into the food because the brain needs time to realize that the stomach is already full. Eat at intervals and finish with dinner just before you feel sizzling.
  • Healthy eating is not a mission impossible during the holidays! It all depends on you! 😊 If you need help with overweight and appetite, you can always contact us.
